Responsibilities & Requirements

  1. You will create accurate, SEO-friendly news content for the BBC Igbo website and keep it updated promptly.
  2. You will shoot, edit and present short-form video for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and similar platforms.
  3. You will build social content that grows engagement and helps audiences discover BBC Igbo journalism.
  4. You will react fast to breaking news and keep a steady flow of content across web and social channels.
  5. You will use analytics and performance data to guide your content decisions.
  6. You will contribute to visualised radio programmes, presenting on air and on screen.
  7. You will turn live radio and interviews into digital clips that reach wider audiences.
  8. You must have proven experience across digital, social, radio and video platforms.
  9. You need excellent Igbo writing, reading and storytelling skills, plus fluency in English.
  10. You should understand Nigeria and West Africa's political, social and cultural landscape.
