About

You would be joining the Computer History Museum, known as CHM. They are based in the heart of Silicon Valley. They do this through research, events, and a huge collection of artifacts and oral histories. They value integrity, inclusiveness, innovation, communication, and curiosity, and they emphasize diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Your day-to-day will look like this:
  1. You will coordinate the printing and mailing of thank-you letters to donors every two weeks and monthly pledge reminders
  2. 2. You will handle the yearly distribution of donor tax receipts
  3. You will provide on-the-ground support for development events like donor appreciation events, president's lunch, and membership receptions.
  4. You will clean, check, and format data exports and spreadsheets for communications, reports, and events.
  5. You will flag missing or wrong donor data and raise tickets for correction.
  6. You will maintain the yearly project plan in Airtable, tracking deadlines, tasks, and who owns what.
  7. You will follow up with teammates to make sure deadlines are met.
  8. You will manage the calendar for the Chief Development Officer and help with purchase orders and credit card reconciliations.
  9. You will take notes and track action items from development meetings.
Requirements:
  1. You should preferably have a bachelor's degree.
  2. You should have at least 2 years in an admin, coordinator, or project support type role.

  7. You should be familiar with standard office equipment like printers, scanners, and mailing systems.

How to Apply

You will need to send an email to jobs@computerhistory.org
Do not just hit apply on LinkedIn. Prepare a tailored cover letter that connects your experience directly to membership and fundraising support, plus your resume, and three professional references. Make sure you copy the exact job title - Membership Coordinator - into your subject line, otherwise your application may be missed.

Why Apply

You should apply if you want a role where your organizational skills actually drive impact. This is not a dead-end admin job. You are directly supporting fundraising that keeps a world-class museum running. For you, it offers strong benefits, real hybrid flexibility, and a chance to work in Silicon Valley's tech culture but within a nonprofit mission. It is a great stepping stone into nonprofit development leadership.

Before You Apply

Before you apply, audit your skills honestly. Are you truly detail-obsessed with data? Can you show examples of managing a project plan in Airtable or Salesforce? Because this team will trust you with sensitive donor information. Also, check your availability for hybrid onsite work and occasional evenings. You should also tailor your resume to show nonprofit, membership, or executive support experience if you have it.

Required Skills

Organization and coordination, administrative support and anticipation, project and deadline management, attention to detail and accuracy, donor database management, spreadsheet data cleaning, Airtable proficiency, excellent communication, customer service mindset, time management, problem-solving and proactive thinking.

Tips to Get Hired

For you to stand out, quantify your admin wins. Instead of saying you managed calendars, say how many stakeholders and events you coordinated. Show that you understand donor stewardship - that thanking donors quickly matters. And proofread everything twice, they will judge you on accuracy.
