Program Manager

DataraFlow is looking for someone who can take full ownership of its learning program. This is a hands-on remote role for a person who is organized, proactive, and passionate about helping African talent grow in data science and AI. Description
DataraFlow is an accountability-driven talent accelerator in Africa. It runs a free and intensive six-month program focused on Data Science, Machine Learning, and Generative AI for African professionals. The program is structured around daily milestones, weekly deliverables, and a clear removal policy designed to ensure that graduates demonstrate commitment and completion. The organization is focused on building proof of skill rather than selling hope. The Program Manager will serve as the operational backbone of the cohort, working between participants, mentors, and leadership to ensure the six-month cycle runs smoothly from start to finish. This is a role for someone who takes ownership, works independently, and is accountable for results.

Responsibilities:
  1. Own and manage the cohort calendar, milestones, and the weekly deliverable cycle
  2. Track participant progress against milestones and apply the removal policy in a consistent and fair manner
  3. Run orientation, weekly sessions, and program checkpoints from start to finish
  4. Act as the main point of contact for all participants
  5. Detect early signs of disengagement and step in to prevent dropout
  6. Take ownership of retention and graduation rates as key performance measures
  7. Recruit, onboard, and coordinate mentors throughout the cohort
  8. Ensure proper matching between mentors and participants and follow through on engagement
  9. Manage Discord, publication sites, and learning platforms
  10. Keep program documentation and participant records up to date
  11. Provide regular reports on cohort health and potential risks to leadership without waiting to be asked
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 2 years experience in program management, community management, operations, or a similar field
  2. Proven experience running a program or cohort from beginning to end
  3. Strong written communication skills with ability to write to participants daily
  4. Comfortable using Discord, Zoho or similar tools, learning platforms or portals, and spreadsheets
  5. Reliable internet connection and availability to work across the cohort schedule in WAT
  6. Genuine interest in data science and AI education and in developing African talent
  7. Background in edtech, bootcamps, or talent accelerators is an added advantage
  8. Familiarity with data science or AI fundamentals is an added advantage
  9. Experience managing volunteer or mentor networks is an added advantage
