Description
BlobbyClips is a rapidly growing YouTube channel specializing in short 2D animations that generate billions of views monthly. We operate at high volume, move quickly, and are obsessed with continuous improvement.
We are hiring multiple writers to join our team. This is not a traditional screenwriting role. You will generate original concepts and develop the strongest ones into tightly structured screenplays built specifically for the YouTube Shorts format. Scripts typically range from 300 to 900 words, including both dialogue and animation direction.
You will learn by analyzing successful BlobbyClips videos to understand why they work, then apply those principles to completely different premises and structures. Your goal is to consistently create visually driven scripts that hook viewers immediately, sustain engagement throughout, and deliver a strong payoff.

Responsibilities:
1. Generate a high volume of strong, original concepts for animated Shorts on a consistent basis.
2. Write complete short screenplays, including dialogue and clear animation direction, following the BlobbyClips voice and style.
3. Deliver approximately 7 finished scripts per week.
4. Apply feedback quickly and revise scripts when required by the internal team.
5. Use internal examples and performance data to continuously refine and improve your writing.
6. Ensure every script features a strong hook, effective pacing, clear escalation, and a satisfying payoff.
Requirements:
1. A strong natural sense of comedy, storytelling, and internet culture.
2. Excellent idea-generation skills and the ability to come up with fresh premises at high volume.
3. A strong understanding of hooks, pacing, escalation, and payoff in short-form content.
4. The ability to think visually and write with animation in mind, not just dialogue.
5. Excellent written and spoken English.
6. Reliability, independence, and the ability to handle direct creative feedback professionally.
7. Experience with comedy writing, YouTube, animation, TikTok, Reels, or other short-form content is a plus but not required, creative submissions matter far more than your resume.

Selected applicants will be invited to complete a two-script unpaid writer test after their application is reviewed. This test is used strictly for evaluation, and test submissions will not be commercially produced unless separately agreed upon.
The strongest applicants from the test will move to a paid trial, completing 5 scripts at $50 USD per script ($250 total). During this trial, you will receive additional writing resources.
The strongest trial writers will be offered an ongoing contract writing 7 scripts per week at $75 USD per approved script. We are hiring multiple writers for the ongoing team.
The initial test has no hard deadline, but submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis, so applying sooner is better. We evaluate originality, idea quality, hooks, progression, visual storytelling, pacing, and payoff.
