Description
SurveyMonkey is the world’s most popular platform for surveys and forms, built for business loved by users. We combine powerful capabilities with intuitive design, effectively serving every use case, from customer experience to employee engagement, market research to payment and registration forms. With built-in research expertise and AI-powered technology, it’s like having a team of expert researchers at your fingertips.
Trusted by millions from startups to Fortune 500 companies SurveyMonkey helps teams gather insights and information that inspire better decisions, create experiences people love, and drive business growth. Discover how at surveymonkey.com.
SurveyMonkey is running content like a newsroom, constant output of sharp, specific, unmistakably-us writing: blog posts that take a real stance, campaign copy that earns attention, landing pages that convert, social content that builds audiences, and short-form assets that stretch across every channel we touch.
We're also a data company with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations make better decisions through feedback. That means our best content doesn't just make an argument and claims, it makes an argument backed by real numbers. This role sits at the intersection of AI-assisted writing and data-informed storytelling. You'll work with data scientists and analysts to find the insight inside the dataset, then turn it into something a human actually wants to read.
This is not a traditional content manager role. It's also not a "prompt engineer" role. It's both, at once: a skilled human writer who has cracked the code on how to get great output from AI tools, and who can move fast without sacrificing the voice, the specificity, or the point of view that makes SurveyMonkey content worth reading.
You'll sit inside the MarCo team and partner closely with brand, comms, social, product marketing, and our data science team.
Benefits:
· Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
· RRSP matching
· Flexible spending & health savings account
· Paid holidays
· Paid time off
· Employee assistance program
· Other company benefits
· Bonuses may also be offered as part of the total compensation package
Responsibilities:
1. Own content production across long-form (blog, SEO, reports, thought leadership) and short-form (ads, emails, social, landing page copy, in-product messaging) formats.
2. Use AI writing tools fluently to draft, iterate, and scale while serving as the final editor and quality check before anything goes out.
3. Translate briefs, strategy docs, and campaign inputs into structured, brand-consistent prompts and workflows that produce first drafts worth editing.
4. Partner with data scientists and analysts to find the story inside a dataset turning survey results, product usage trends, or research reports into clear, compelling narratives that non-technical audiences actually want to engage with.
5. Take raw numbers and turn them into headlines, frameworks, and angles not just captions for charts.
6. Maintain and evolve a library of prompt frameworks, brand guidelines, and content reference material that any AI tool can be pointed at.
7. Develop and manage a content calendar in collaboration with campaign and channel leads.
8. Adapt tone and format by channel and audience without losing our voice: the same witty, human, reliable curiosity should read naturally in a LinkedIn post, a product email, and a 2,000-word report.
9. Work with brand and creative teams to help ensure AI-assisted output doesn't flatten our personality.
10. Spot and fix the tell-tale signs of generic AI content before we add to the slop.
Requirements:
1. 5+ years of content writing experience, with a portfolio that shows range across long-form and short-form formats.
2. Demonstrable fluency with AI writing tools (we use Claude and Gemini) not as a novelty, but as a core part of your writing process.
3. A genuine editorial instinct: you know when copy is too vague, too hedged, or too obviously machine-generated, and you fix it without being told.
4. Proven ability to work with data you can sit with a spreadsheet, a research report, or a data scientist's findings and extract a point of view worth publishing.
5. Comfort with data visualization concepts and the ability to write copy that contextualizes and amplifies charts rather than just labeling them.
6. Experience writing for a SaaS or technology brand, ideally in a marketing context.
7. Comfort with SEO fundamentals and writing for organic discovery.
8. The ability to internalize a brand voice deeply enough to replicate it across contexts and tools and to teach that voice to an AI.
9. Strong project management instincts: you can juggle multiple active briefs, flag blockers early, and hit deadlines without a lot of hand-holding.
10. A bias toward specificity. Generic thought leadership is not our thing. A strong, brave, helpful point of view is.
Required skills:
· Content writing (long-form and short-form)
· AI writing tools fluency (Claude, Gemini)
· Editorial instinct and quality control
· Data storytelling and analysis
· Data visualization copywriting
· SaaS/technology brand writing
· SEO fundamentals
· Brand voice mastery and replication
· Prompt engineering and workflow creation
· Project management
· Collaboration with cross-functional teams (brand, comms, social, product marketing, data science)
· Content calendar management
· Channel adaptation (LinkedIn, email, reports, etc.)
· Specificity and point-of-view development
Why Apply
This is not a standard content manager or prompt engineer role, it is positioned as both. You would own production across long-form and short-form while using AI tools like Claude and Gemini as a core part of the process, not as an add-on, and you remain the final editor. SurveyMonkey frames its content like a newsroom with constant output that is sharp and specific, and it has more than 25 years of data to back up stories, so your work would involve turning survey results, product usage trends, and research reports into headlines and narratives, not just captions for charts. The package includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, RRSP matching, flexible spending and health savings account, paid holidays and time off, employee assistance program, and bonuses may be part of total compensation. It is a good fit if you want to work at the intersection of data storytelling and AI-assisted writing for a well-known SaaS brand used by startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Before You Apply
You will need 5+ years of content writing experience and a portfolio that shows range across long-form and short-form, especially for SaaS or technology brands. Be ready to demonstrate how you actually use AI writing tools in your workflow, how you build prompt frameworks and maintain brand guidelines, and how you spot and fix generic AI output before publishing. Since the role is heavy on data, prepare examples of sitting with a spreadsheet or research findings and turning raw numbers into a clear point of view, and how you write copy that adds context to charts. Review SEO fundamentals and how you adapt tone across channels like LinkedIn, email, and longer reports while keeping a consistent voice. Also plan for the remote setup with required travel for in-person company events throughout the year, and make sure your calendar can accommodate that.
